Description
The White House Inn was built in 1849 in the village of Perrysville in Ross Township, Allegheny County, PA on Perry Highway (Rt 19). It was here that the Biddle brothers stopped for ham sandwiches during their famous 1902 escape from the Allegheny County Jail with the warden's wife, Mrs. Soffel. The building now houses five apartments. The photo shows the two story buliding with a second floor balcony and a sign above the front door that reads "White House Tavern M. Mulroy, Prop." Outbuildings are seen to the right.
