Description
View of the 4 Mile House that once stood near the intersection of Perrysville Avenue and Ivory Avenue in Ross Township, Allegheny County, PA. Built circa 1819 by Peter Ivory, Sr., the two story stone tavern/inn stood until 1964. The front view shows wood scaffolding, a ladder and a workman who appears to be replacing windows. In this view, the covered front porch seen in earlier photos is missing. There is a one story wooden addition to the building. A Route 19 marker stands in front of the building, next to a utility pole. An automobile is seen in front of the house
