Description
In the 1930s and 40s, Monroeville was still a sparsely-populated, largely rural community of woods and fields, farmhouses and barns with fenced pastureland. The horse and buggy was still the mainstay of family travel. Occasionally, the horse might be hooked up to a buckboard for shopping trip to Pitcairn or Turtle Creek.
