  • Construction of McKnight Road in Town of McCandless (Allegheny County, PA) looking west onto Babcock Boulevard and Schwartz property (1940). Excavation of road bed. Northway Mall is currently located in upper left side of image. In 1902 the Biddle Brothers stole a sleigh from the Schwartz farm during their escape from the Allegheny County Jail accompanied by Mrs. Soeffel, the warden's wife.
