  • Photo shows Babcock Boulevard facing southeast in Shaler Township, Allegheny County, PA during construction project. Photo shows the Schmith (Smith) Garage. Signs on the front and side of the building read "Park Auto and Machine.." and "Marathon Motor Oils and Gasoline." Additional advertising includes "Goodrich Silvertowns" and other unreadable signs. In the foreground you can see the newly completed bridge over Girty's Run and the section of road yet to be paved. An automobile is seen on the right behind the garage building. The house that can be partially seen immediately behind the garage building is still standing. Other houses can be seen in the distance, some of which are no longer standing.
