  • View of Johnstown as seen from the Johnstown Inclined Plane. The incline was built after the 1889 flood to connect Johnstown to the borough of Westmont. It was designed by Samuel Diescher, who also designed Pittsburgh's Duquesne and Monongahela Inclines, and is the steepest vehicular incline in the world.
