Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation's Soho Works (foreground) looking toward downtown Pittsburgh. The Jones & Laughlin South Side Works is also pictured behind the Monongahela River. The Soho Works, employing over 5000 people at one time, closed in 1977 and its blast furnaces were demolished in the mid-1980s.
