Description
Eleanor Roosevelt visited Pittsburgh twice in 1944, once in February and again in May, when she spent the day touring the city. She returned in July 1946 for the dedication of a memorial to Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She is shown here on her arrival at Pittsburgh's Municipal Airport, in front of a Pennsylvania Central Airlines plane. City dignitaries, several women, and the press form a greeting party.
